May 1999 – assisted in writing a course for Westminster Adult Education Service entitled: “African Studies: An Introduction (Classical Antiquity, Traditional Society, & Contemporary World)” and presented the document to a panel at the London Open College Network where it was accepted for accreditation at levels 2/3.

2014 – Warner Bros African Language Specialist and Dialect Coach for The Legend of Tarzan movie released July 2016.
September 2008 and November 2007– Irene Taylor Trust ‘Music In Prisons’. Coordinator of a 5-day music workshop for short-term prisoners. The September 2008 x2 five-day projects culminated in the Inside Out music and photo exhibition at the Royal Festival Hall South Bank (16 October – 13 November 2008).
March-April 2007 – Maroon Town Music Workshop. Coordinator of a music workshop hosted by an international pop group for long-term prisoners who are enrolled on my music course.
London Afro Blok – 1991-1999 Group member with Afro Blok, specialising in African-Brazilian music. Highlights include:
Africa ’95 – The Future Sounds of Africa, touring and playing with the Rebirth Brass Band (from New Orleans) and playing rhythm section for the ‘Fathers of African Music': legendary South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela and Cameroonian saxophonist Manu Diabango (summer 1995).
XV Commonwealth Games (August 1994) Victoria, Vancouver Island, Canada. 2-week tour representing England in the cultural music events which ran alongside the games. Performed for Queen Elizabeth II and at the Closing Ceremony hosted by Prince Edward.
Pyramid Arts Latin Percussion Team – 1987-1991 Group member playing African-Cuban rhythms with the late jazz drummer and group leader Clifford Jarvis.

Following nomination, I was included in the Black 100+ Portrait Exhibition of Britain’s Most Influential Black People in recognition of my academic achievements, teaching and work in prisons. Other notables included: comedian Lenny Henry, academic Baroness Lola Young, and Kanya King, founder of the MOBO awards. The South London Press newspaper published an article (Friday 19th October 2007) about the exhibition, which included extracts of an interview with the exhibition creator, Lorna Stewart.
